On Friday the 13th, Jess and Yuri proclaimed their undying love for each other under the glowing harvest moon at their friends home in Chazy, NY. The way they looked at each other, the way the fall breeze clung to their gorgeous outfits, and the way their closest family members embraced them into this new chapter of their lives are all moments I lived for as their elopement photographer. (And, photographing this house was FUN. It was a dream house, built by its current owner to include amenities such as a porch swing, a sauna, and luxurious furs all over its interior. It felt like it had a life of its own.)
Jess and Yuri could not stop smiling. Jess has a smile that makes her eyes crinkle, and she has this calming energy that makes her so wonderful to be around. At one point, Yuri smiled at the sky because he had already smiled at everyone else at his wedding and had no one else to direct his unbridled joy toward. There was so much love at this elopement, and I’m not sure if it was the full burnt orange moon, it being Friday the 13th, or the scent of patchouli incense… but there was magic in the air that was palpable. I even remember remarking to my assistant, “this night is different.”
Jess and Yuri, congratulations on your pregnancy, your new marriage, and a lifetime of magic ahead. xoxo.
