I met David and Caroline last week for their engagement photos. They took a trip to Vermont to experience it in the summer, which is arguably the most magical time here.
David and Caroline are a magnetizing couple. They felt familiar to me the first time I met them. It was difficult for me to figure out why, but when I was processing their photos after their engagement session, it dawned on me that the familiarity came from the parallels I saw between them and my best friends, Kelsey and James. My friendship with Kelsey started when we were very small children, and I met her husband James when we were in our mid 20s. Now, I hang out with James sometimes without Kelsey. We have an independent relationship from that of mine and Kelsey’s. David and Caroline remind me of them, because you genuinely love them together and separately. Together, they are dynamic, feed off of each other, and highlight each other’s best qualities.
I loved that David expertly altered Caroline’s beautiful white dress, shown below. She is a thrift queen like myself, and found a garment that was perfect after his handiwork. The creativity they both possess make them a total dream team! And it makes me very much want to learn how to work a sewing machine.
I love these photos because I feel I’ve highlighted their dynamic, and the way they truly belong together. They just *click*, and that made them so joyous to photograph. We also got one of the best sunsets of the summer at the finale of our time together. It was the perfect evening!
They are getting married at the Ponds at Bolton Valley, which is one of my favs, next June. I already can’t wait!
Thanks so much you two– XO!

Over the years, I was asked the same questions. “What do I wear?” “What colors look best on camera?” This FREE guide will tell you all you need to know about how to prepare for your session!
