HUGE CONGRATS to Laura and Corey, who are expecting their first baby this summer!
When I met them on a wildly warm day in May for their Vermont maternity photography, they were radiant. Corey was doting over Laura the entire time, and Laura looked stunning in her summer dress.
We were meant to meet at Leddy Beach in Burlington, Vermont, but along the way I found some blossoming trees and knew Laura would look gorgeous with them. Plus, we had to commemorate the welcome season change!! Finally, things are blooming!
I’ve know these two for a couple of years now. The first thing I noticed about them is that they epitomize altruism. Their consistent propensity to extend a helping hand has meant I’ve lost count of the times they’ve offered to help me. They’re always there, and even though Laura works her a$$ off at the hospital as a nurse, she will make the time for you.
When I learned they were pregnant, it seemed so exciting but so obvious. They were meant to be parents, and the loving devotion they have shown each other in their marriage is inspiring to me as an engaged person. (I would not be surprised if Laura gave birth to a literal angel.) Of course I jumped at the opportunity to photograph this VERY photogenic couple.
I always love maternity portraits, because there’s a nervous energy in the air. The excitement is palpable, and it’s especially true for a first baby. Parents are thrilled, scared, and SO happy. Capturing this very specific moment in time brings me so much joy.
Laura and Corey’s dog nearly stole the show, and I can’t wait to take newborn photos with him and the baby in just a few months! (Dogs and babies in newborn portraits? It’s a dream come true.)
Thanks again, you two. I can’t wait to meet baby L. XO!
