On July 27th, I packed up my car and drove to Kelsey’s family home in Underhill, Vermont. The sun was shining and I was blaring my Wedding Mix to get me pumped up for the event. Kelsey’s family had been planning this day for over a year, and the love and effort they put Kelsey and Ryan’s wedding was evident as soon as I pulled into their driveway.

People were bustling around, setting up decor and seating, while the sun beat down on the rolling mountain views. Kelsey was enjoying the company of her bridesmaids and family. Her whole face lit up as she showed me her wedding gown, and seeing her in it was a whole other story. She went minimalist with her makeup and jewelry, which let her beautiful natural features and intricate lace details take the stage. This was the perfect choice for an elegant summer soirée.

The day was hot, but no one complained because they were just so dang happy. Besides, there was plenty of Shelburne Vineyards varieties to quench guests’ thirsts, and a gorgeous tent a la Vermont Tent Company provided some much-appreciated shade.

One of my favorite parts of this wedding was the symbolism of butterflies. Kelsey’s mother Francine carefully crafted paper butterflies for the lanterns, and even planned a release of several dozens of monarch butterflies during the wedding reception. I loved working with Kelsey’s parents to make this day everything we were dreaming of.
