Katie & Paul’s Vermont Winter Wedding

Congratulations to Katie and Paul, whose snow globe wedding at the Inn at Manchester was one of the most beautiful weddings I’ve photographed.

 

Katie and Paul were particularly excited for their wedding day because, as a self-proclaimed “COVID-couple,” their friends and family had not met each other. They wanted their celebration to be a unifying event where their best friends could gather for a weekend getaway in Vermont. Manchester was the perfect destination. It’s a cozy, quintessential Vermont town and the inn itself is the best place to get snowed into with loved ones.

The winter weather advisory and subzero temps did not stop this couple or their wedding party, who were total troopers for outdoor photos. It was the coldest wedding I have photographed to date, and my camera batteries died due to the sudden indoor/outdoor drops in temperature (luckily, I always have extras!). I was most impressed when Katie and Paul took outdoor photos at night. Katie’s gorgeous, classic satin gown had lace detailing on the back that essentially rendered it an open-back dress. When a particularly nasty gust of wind chilled Katie to the bone, Paul kept her warm and the effect was some gorgeous cuddly photos in the snow.

 

Thank you two for being so freakin’ gorgeous and sweet. I so appreciated the constant check-ins (Katie and her girls asked if I ate/if I needed a drink/if I wanted champagne all day, and it was amazingly thoughtful!). The energy was sweet and fun from beginning to end. You are a dream couple! XO!
