Jodi & Dakota’s Vermont Mountain Wedding

 

 

 

HUGE congrats to Jodi and Dakota, who got married on Saturday at the Barn at Smugglers Notch!

 

The day was absolutely stunning, with a shocker of a finale sunset overlooking Camel’s Hump. My favorite part of the day, though, was the ceremony. Sometimes ceremonies come and go without much emotion, and that’s okay. But not this one. One of my favorite photos of the day is shown below, in which each bridesmaid is welling up with tears. Those girls care so much about Jodi and Dakota, and they were completely overwhelmed with joy that these two were committing to each other forever.

I ALWAYS say this, and will say it again: your wedding day is about so much more than the two of you. The fact that you get to have your closest community around you, promising to prioritize your marriage and help you remember to keep your vows, is gorgeous. Carmen George, the officiant extraordinaire, took care to ask the guests to promise to remind the couple in their darkest moments of their vows, and how happy their vows make them. I love this sentiment; it highlights how much of a family and community event a wedding is.
