Caroline and David’s Mountainside Wedding

July 12, 2023

The sweet and magical Caroline & David celebrated their love this month at the Ponds. Caroline’s contagious smile greeted us when we arrived and I was relieved; I never know how brides will react to the rain. Most are disappointed, but reason that we can accomplish amazing photos. My goal is always to show them they can trust me and their other vendors to pull through and make their day beautiful and seamless. Caroline recognized that the rain was part of the wedding story, and for that I was grateful. It also meant that people followed her lead, and were willing and enthusiastic about heading outside for photos.

Personal touches from the day included a recessional song played by the bride’s brother, a personalized chuppah and ketubah, handmade and hand-painted wooden floral centerpieces, and a cake lovingly baked by the groom’s sister. I loved photographing these pieces because it was clear that hours and hours had gone into them in anticipation of this day. It’s so refreshing to see these unique aspects at a wedding, and I was not surprised that David and Caroline chose NOT to have a cookie-cutter celebration.

My favorite part of the day was after the dancing (which was a close second favorite), when Caroline and David felt completely carefree. The formal pieces of the day were accomplished, and they could let their hair down and party. We went outside for a final shot, and at the last moment, David pulled the umbrella away from them and they kissed in the rain. David is a romantic, and I am so glad we got this shot because it reflects them so beautifully. It’s poised yet reckless, and a little bit wild. 🙂

Congratulations, you two! Thank you for an AMAZING wedding day! XO!
