On the first hot hot day of summer, I met up with Vermont wedding planner Rachel Vitagliano.
She said that she was craving, “whimsical portraits that show off who I really am.” She explained that she has a side of her that influences her brand, and one that she wanted people to see more of. She is a romantic, with a creative vision that she can harness when she meticulously plans her weddings.
We’d both recently re-watched Wuthering Heights and decided that a romantic, elegant setting + a sense of carefree summer vibes was needed. The Blind Tiger in Burlington, Vermont, was a perfect choice for this Euro-summer shoot, and I packed up my film camera and met her there one hazy afternoon.
The Blind Tiger’s historic charm and its detailed landscaping practically gave me choice-paralysis. I especially loved the way the film shots captured the stopped-in-time feeling that the inn provides. The Blind Tiger is a calm oasis from the outside word, with maximalist interior decor that really spoke to both Rachel and my personal style.
Rachel is an accomplished Vermont wedding planner serving the Northeast, and when I saw her at a few networking parties wearing cheetah print, I knew we’d be friends. She was such a delight to photograph, and I especially love the photographs in which she looks completely at peace– a photograph taken was incidental to her joy in that moment.
Thank you for trusting me with these, Rachel! XO
